There is a bent hardware mesh under one of the vent caps and presents the most likely entry and is close a vertical 2X brace that I saw one animal descending into the attic. Woodpeckers Rattle Bear Lake, Idaho

We have been hearing a rat-a-tat sound coming from our roof for the last 2 or so months (sounds like a jack hammer!) Every time we went outside to see what it was, the noise stopped. Then one day my husband went out and say a bird fly off. Then our neighbors said they saw it and it was a woodpecker. Our roof is NOT wood. It happens usually always in the mornings from 7-10 am. What can we do about this? Diane H.
A woodpecker has made a nest inside the back wall of my home. I have a painted wood trim piece and he's made a hole and when inside continues to tap on the inside walls of the house, not sure how long the drywall can hold up to the pecking. The hole he has made outside is about 14 foot up from the ground. Jim H.
